The East Asia Explorer tracks evolving geopolitical and geoeconomic trends, emerging security challenges, progress of regional institutions, major domestic and foreign policy developments in countries of East Asia and Oceania, and India’s engagement with this strategically important region.

He observes that the primary objective of the visit was to stabilise diplomatic and economic relations between Australia and China, which have deteriorated over the past few years, while ensuring that Australia's core principles and national interests are not compromised.

Dr. Prabir De analyses BIMSTEC’s recent initiatives, its continued relevance as a regional grouping, and the progress achieved so far. He suggests that BIMSTEC needs an additional push to achieve its full potential.

Amb. Biren Nanda provides a comprehensive review of India-ASEAN relations, focussing on key milestones of the India-ASEAN Dialogue Partnership. He highlights the significant achievements, which have included the strengthening of political, security, economic, socio-cultural and development cooperation.
